My Equine Family
(The Horses)
An introduction and then pics of my girls and their foals

.
My love of horses since a young girl has lived forever.  It has taken me to many areas of the horse world.  From minor show jumping comps, western riding and the race scene.  In NZ I became an Instructor for the local Pony Club, which I enjoyed imensely as well.

Over the years I have owned the general hack come pony club mount, Arabs, (part, Anglo and Pure), Quarter Horse, Appaloosa, Palomino, Miniature Horses and the Thoroughbred.  My main love ofcourse was always the Arab, next in line the Thoroughbred.
Mostly I bred Anglo Arabs, a couple of Pure Arabs and now the Thoroughbred.

The Miniature came into my life when I became ill  again with secondary cancer.  Affecting my lungs I felt the bigger horses were too much for me to cope with.  Specially if I wanted to show them.  The Mini suited because of the size as well as my liking the type.

Over the past few years though I once again went back to the Thoroughbred.  To begin with buying in co ownership a filly to race.  Unfortunately she didnt pan out as well as hoped, but thats another story ;-))

During this time a couple of broodmares were also bought in co ownership.  I now fully own these girls, adding to them with a couple more quality mares.
Recently I sat back and look at the girls and knew that decisions had to be made to cut back expenses.  Two mares will be sold, leaving me with the two I feel are the best to keep, plus offspring from them.

At present I have Paliway, a big chestnut mare by the well known Archway x Paliza. Archway sadly passed away just last year.  A young mare that produced a lovely natured chestnut colt to Carbon Prince, (Sir Tristram x English Fantasy), from her first year at stud.  The colt was sold to a friend early this year and Paliway is soon to leave as well.

The 2nd mare I will be letting go is World Scoop, sired by At Talaq x World News.  She has produced 3 foals with one doing fairly well on the track at present and another just named ready to start his career.  Scoop produce a colt foal for me 9th Oct  2006 to Centre Stalls.

Angel Hunter is mare number 3.  Angel is a lovely natured bay by Dont Say Halo x Out Manouvre.  She did her fair share of winning on the track and is now retired in the broodmare paddock.  Her first foal was a chestnut filly by Pierce Arrow, sold for a pony club mount or show hack.  Her second a colt by Aristotle, born Dec 2004, is owned by a friend hoping to make the grade for the track.

Last but not least is the big strong mare Breezy (Zephyr Zip x Starlight Express).  A mare that has produced well in the past (4 named foals that I know of) and last year dropped me a nice strong filly to Centre Stalls.  She is foaled a filly 23rd Nov 06 to Willow Groves new import from USA. Mughareb (Gone West x Marling)  Breezy will then be served by Carbon Prince
